People have far too much power to hurt us. Though I suppose I would then argue that we give them that power. We can choose to harden ourselves, for our sakes, to them without being cruel. But what if we don't like either option? Where's the "None of the above" option?

You have a tender heart, Daniel. Although it may not always feel like it, God gave you that as a gift from him. It is what makes you the incredible man you are and without it you would not be ready or equipped for His life's purpose.
Jesus' had a tender heart like yours too. It is why you are so special.
